FAQ's About Mike

Why should I listen to you?

I am not going to try and convince you that you should listen to me. I am simply going to share my opinions and facts on what I have learned. I encourage everyone who reads what I say (or what anyone says for that matter) to critically assess it to its full understanding rather than blindly listen. I truly care about what I do and am careful about what I say. There are too many fitness professionals who will go out and teach something that they heard from someone else (usually a health magazine) without assessing it personally. That’s not why I am here and that’s not what I intend to do.

Many people say that experience is the best teacher, I agree. But I find it far more productive to look outside of myself and learn from other peoples mistakes and avoid making them myself.

What do you do to keep in shape?

I like to experiment with many different training styles. I find that you cannot teach without learning first. I also believe that you cannot learn most things, especially when it comes to your health, just from reading some books. You need to experience it and feel it for yourself. But if I had to choose my favorite way to exercise is with just my body weight. It’s the most conventional and limitless piece of exercise equipment we have.

What about food? What do you eat? What’s your diet?

My personal diet is very simple. I like to eat meats such as chicken, fish steak…..lots of veggies (my favorite is spinach) and fruit (strawberries are my favorite there)…….tons of healthy fat ( I cook almost everything in olive oil and I love to snack on almonds and walnuts) and I try to stay away from processed foods, starches, sugars, and breads rice’s or pasta’s.

Whoa time out! You don’t eat breads? How do you live!?

Actually it’s very easily to have a diet without those things. You just have to give it a fair shot J
